New Zealand team selected for first match against Tonga

New Zealand has selected the team for its opening match against Tonga in the upcoming Rugby World Cup 2011. Richie McCaw will captain the Rugby World Cup 2011 New Zealand team in the opening match against Tonga. There has been a lot of competition at various positions and selecting the fifteen players is a difficult task. All the selectd members who have been given oppurtunity will look to utilise it and put their fullest effort to give a good opening. The Rugby World Cup 2011 New Zealand team for the opening match against Tonga is listed below:

O'gara Confident to be fit by Ireland's first match against USA in the RWC 2011

Ireland’s Ronan O’Gara has said that he is confident to be fit for his team’s opening match of the Rugby World Cup 2011 against USA on September 11th. Ronan was injured at the Ireland’s Rugby World Cup training camp and that his recovery process from the injury is satisfactory. He has to undergo four very hard fitness sessions to join the team and play his third consecutive World Cup where he already played for Ireland in the 2003 and 2007 World Cups.

Besides this he has a heavy competition with his team-mate Jonathan Sexton for his ‘fly half’ position in the team. O’Gara has to put up an exceptional performance to confirm his position as in this year’s RBS Six Nations tournament earlier Sexton was picked up in place of O’Gara. He provided a mind blowing performance for Ireland against England and won man of the match award. But, O’Gara seems not to be worried about his place in the team and hopes that his need for the team would come, may it be at the start games or come on and win games. Alongside teams like Australia, USA, Italy and Russia; Ireland are placed in Pool C of the Rugby World Cup 2011
